I see quite often posts mention hiking in Okinawa.
On All Trails, the top rated trails are:
- Jawbone Ridge Loop • Hard •10.9 km •Est. 3h 56m
- Mount Katsuu • Moderate •1.4 km
- Mount Ishikawa Loop• Hard • 3.7 km •Est. 1h 30m
- Ta-taki Falls • Moderate •2.1 km •Est. 36m
- Mount Awadake • Hard •4.2 km •Est. 1h 52m
- Hiji Otaki Falls • Moderate • 2.7 km •Est. 49m
- Fukugawa Falls • Moderate •1.3 km •Est. 23m
- Mount Ishikawa: C Course Loop • Moderate •2.6 km •Est. 1h 5m
- Mount Katsuu Loop • Hard •4.8 km
- Indy Jones Mile • Moderate •1.1 km
All Trails is a paid app but I think you can get enough information from the free Basic service to do the trail. It's mentioned that the best times for hiking are Jan to May, presumably because it's really hot after May and the Typhoon season is at the end of the year.
Does anyone here know any of these trails or any others? Any tips, I guess avoiding contact with snakes is a big one. Has anyone here, hiked outside of Jan-May?
