Sorry, I'm sure this has been asked before—I searched but couldn’t find a clear answer.
Hello, t'is me!—your latest dummy to learn proof of income requirements for a student visa means showing the full financial support upfront. Others told me showing 6–12 months of bank statements and income proof would do. In the words of our prophet Tyler the Creator…
Here's the tl;dr:
-
Intended length of stay: 2 years
-
Expected tuition: $13-ish
-
COE requirement: $10–15k
My question is: I know visa extensions exist and aren't typically rare. Rather than take a 6-month setback square on the chin, how stupid would I be to aim for a 3- or 6-month student visa (with enough funds to cover that period), meanwhile save up the full amount and extend the visa to 2 years once I'm there? (That seems fine, but it seemed fine before.)
