Nikkei Ancestry Visa Guarantor Stress

Hi Everyone!

So I've been working and preparing my Visa application for the past year, and pretty much everything is ready to go. Family tree, koseki tohon of relatives, background checks, birth certificates of other relatives born in the USA, etc. However, I have had the hardest time with the guarantor process.

My situation is unique in that I was raised by my Japanese Grandmother in the US. She had lost contact with her distant relatives over the years, and her immediate relatives in Japan that she was in contact with have passed away or are in nursing homes and no longer cognitively able to sign. I know of relatives, but no way to reach out to them.

I also know Japanese nationals who have offered to sign, but they travel abroad often and my immigration lawyer recommended against using them as their address in Japan may raise flags since they travel so often, and their work is tied abroad.

My immigration lawyer did mention he's had clients use guarantor services in the past, but he did not know further information. Does anyone have experience or knowledge on this?

The great thing with me being under the ancestry visa, is the the guarantor is not legally bound to me and only has to provide a scan of their id and sign the guarantor sheet. It is not a lengthy or intrusive process.

I'm getting quite anxious, as something that in many ways should be the easiest thing to obtain, is proving to be the most difficult.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.
