  1. It’s been more than 15 years since I was in Japan. I still have vivid memories. Among many fond memories and things that impressed me, what really stood out was the attention to detail, the value that they see in the harmony between esthetics and functionality. Everything served at least those two purposes and everything was very well thought through. I know Japan and Japanese people are not perfect but I absolutely adore the country, the people and the culture.

  2. I do find it a shame how old rivers in Japanese cities have been made into concrete funnels. It’d be so great if they could “re-river” some areas to make them more usable for humans and nature
