Hello everyone! I’m currently working as a backend developer and I have a question regarding job opportunities for international students in Japan.
As far as I know, with a student visa in Japan, I am allowed to work up to 28 hours per week.
The company I currently work for only offers in-office work, and since I’ll be studying full-time, relocating and commuting daily to the office won’t be realistic anymore. That’s why I’m planning to find a new part-time job related to my field, preferably backend development.
So I’m wondering:
- Are there job platforms or communities in Japan where international students (especially in tech) can find remote or part-time developer jobs?
- Is knowledge of Japanese required from the start, or are there positions available in English-speaking environments?
- Any tips or advice on how to approach the job market in this situation?
