I’m a 24 yo (F) from Italy and I recently graduated from my master’s degree. I was thinking about doing some voluntary work around the world and I was considering Japan, since I’ve recently travelled there and I had an amazing experience. I’d love to explore it more.
I was looking at opportunities (mainly hostel cleaning) on apps like Workaway or Worldpackers, and some precisely state that they require a work visa or working holiday visa.
It’s not currently possible to get a working holiday visa here in Italy, but I think I could apply for a work visa since I have a degree. My problem is that I’d like to do this experience with my boyfriend (25M), and he doesn’t have a degree. Do you think it’s possible to get a work visa just for voluntary work, if we submit a letter from the hostel in which we’re going to work?
