Area Timed Ticket enquiries

Hi, me and my family are heading to Japan in 5 days and Universal Studios Japan in a week. We’re all very eager to experience Super Nintendo World, and only recently have I discovered the existence and importance of an Area Timed Ticket. I’ve installed the USJ app, and have attempted snagging a few of those as soon as I found out but to no avail. Is there any workarounds to this or any other methods of securing one? I’ve heard you should try to get one when you’re actually at USJ, and that would be the most likely/viable way to get one if you didn’t snag one months in advance via the app. Please help, any suggestions or methods would be greatly appreciated.

  1. The queues there will boggle your mind. You can get some standby tickets on the day but they’re not predictable or even guaranteed. You need to be at the kiosks for these. Once again, the queues will boggle your mind. Rule of thumb, if you want to do ANYTHING in Japan, always book ahead of time, sometimes months ahead.

  2. You can’t get the entry ticket until you’ve added your day pass to the app, and entered the park (after they scan it).

If you want to go into nintendo world for the most time, be through the gate before opening time. If the gates open at 9am, you need to be in (again, not at, but through the gates and scanned) the park by 8:30 to get a timed entry for 9~9:30 slot. If you enter the park after 10am, you’re looking at a time entry slot for 4 or 5pm if you’re lucky.

Have fun, end up taking my kids there almost weekly.

  3. You need to enter the park first (preferable when they open like 8/:8:30am) then once you’re in, use the app to get an area timed entry ticket. Always works for me!
