7-Day Tokyo Itinerary – Japan 2026 (excluding accommodation)

Hello guys, first of all I am sorry if this is not the correct forum for this post.

I am trying to plan a trip to japan on November 2026 with my friends like 6 or 8 and I wanted to know your opinion If i have build the itinerary good or if I can add something that I can be missing. After Tokio we plan to go to Kyoto 3 nights, 3 nights in Osaka and 1 night in Hiroshima and them we come back to tokyo to say farewell to the trip. For now I have just created the itinerary for tokyo.

I still don't where we could sleep, from the maps I see that Ikebukuro or Shinjuku are the best options?

Ummm I still don´t have a set budget and I am really sorry if I am asking to much I am very nervous and I really want to make a dream come true.

I am also still deciding If we add 2 more days to the trip and where to spend them.

Day 1 – Arrival in Tokyo

  • Arrive at Narita or Haneda Airport
  • Exchange yen, activate Suica/Pasmo card
  • Hotel check-in and rest

  • Light dinner or short walk if you have energy

    Day 2 – Harajuku, Meiji Shrine & Shibuya

  • Visit Meiji Shrine and Yoyogi Park

  • Explore Takeshita Street (fashion, crepes, kawaii shops)

  • Walk to Shibuya: Hachikō statue and Scramble Crossing

  • Optional: Shibuya Sky observation deck

    Day 3 – Asakusa, Ueno Park & Ameyoko Market

  • Senso-ji Temple and Nakamise shopping street

  • Stroll through Ueno Park and Tokyo National Museum

  • Explore Ameya-Yokocho Market

    Day 4 – Pokémon Center & Sunshine City (Ikebukuro) and akihabara in the afternoon???

  • Visit Pokémon Center Mega Tokyo + anime shops

  • Explore arcades, Mandarake, Book-Off, Otome Road

  • Themed or traditional lunch

  • akihabara???

    Day 5 – Ghibli Museum, Nakano Broadway & TeamLab Planets

  • Ghibli Museum (advance reservation required) + Inokashira Park

  • Nakano Broadway: retro manga, figures, collectibles

  • Evening at TeamLab Planets

  • Dinner by the bay or in Toyosu

    Day 6 – Day Trip to Hakone

  • Travel from Tokyo using the Hakone Freepass

  • Pirate boat ride on Lake Ashi + cable car to Owakudani

  • View of Mt. Fuji (weather permitting)

  • Onsen (hot spring bath) experience

  • Return to Tokyo in the evening

    Day 7 – Free Day or Tokyo DisneySea

  • Option A: Full day at DisneySea

  • Option B: Shopping, Odaiba, theme cafés, or revisit favorite spots

  • Free evening or packing for Kyoto trip the next day
