BOSJ 32 Predictions

With the tournament starting Saturday, I just wanted to know what everyone was thinking for it. I was hoping for an Akira vs Fujita final, but that's not in the cards for this year sadly. I think Akira is making it to the finals this year (possibly Fujita next year) and I'm not sure who he should face in the finals. Either Robbie Eagles, YOH and Despe from B Block are the main ones I feel could make it. Possibly Ishimori, but I don't think they would book him like Hiromu. It's very intriguing this year.

Side note: Clark and Dia should get better pushes in the tournament this year and I'm very excited for MAO and Nick Wayne.

  2. I’m kind of wanting to see a TMDK final with Fujita vs Robbie.

    I’m also a Ninja Mack guy, so I’m just happy to see him in it.

  4. NJPW’s light on young dojo juniors to push, but I still think it’s too early for Fujita. He could be the next Jr Ace, but there’s no need to rush when he’s got no peers.

    I’d like to see a division stalwart win it, either Robbie Eagles, Taiji Ishimori, or maybe, if they completely turn him around, SHO.

    I am prepared to be disappointed. 

  7. Pretty hard to tell, as Block A have the 3 favorites of the tournament to me (Akira, Fujita and Wato (but because he has the Tag belt, I would rank lower Wato now)

    So Block A is between Akira and Fujita, with Fujita a bit higher with the numbers of main event he got.

    Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t see anyone of the Block B to win the tournament.

    I wish Kevin Knight could advance to the finals, because I love this guy and I think he deserve at least a title shot / big moment, but his AEW contract and the fact he want to do the G1 can work against him.

    If Mike Bailey and Takeshita could advance the block stage in the BOSJ 2023 and last year G1, My heart tell me that MAO can go to the finals, but the reason doubt it.

    The safest choice for B Block are Ishimori, SHO and Titan, but can decide.

    So to me the winner is either Akira or Fujita, depending which one can be the Block A representative (and no one is injured of course)

  8. Hoping to see some combo in the final of Fujita, Akira, Titan, Wato, Eagles.

  9. I want Akira vs Despe in the final, with Akira clashing with Nick Wayne somewhere down the line.

  10. I feel like Dragon Dia should at least make the semis since he won the king of gate tournament last year after competing in bosj

  11. Seeing how Despe has already defended against Ishimori, Fujita, Akira and Connors this year, I think Eagles might get the victory or perhaps Titán or outside shot of Wato.

  12. Just going off the final block nights I’m feeling like we may get 1 of 3 scenarios.

    Akira vs Ishimori. I expect Akira to beat Kushida on the final night. Akira winning BOSJ and finally beating Desperado for the title seems like something that would happen. And Ishimori is the most credible guy who isn’t Desperado in that block.

    Fujita vs Eagles. I also expect Robbie to beat Desperado. They’ve had some fantastic matches in BOSJ in the past. I may be wrong on this but I feel like Desperado has won them all? So Robbie winning seems likely here. And I could see them doing a TMDK final. It would be kind of cool since the two TMDK guys just won super junior tag league. I do expect Fujita to end the block with a win over Clark Connors. This would ultimately lead to Fujita vs Desperado which I think may be the way they want to go since TMDK just lost the tag titles.

    Fujita vs Ishimori. This is the alternate version with Fujita winning just in case they’d rather have an all Japanese finals.

    So in my eyes I can only really see Akira or Fujita winning the whole thing. I did have Wato or Yoh having a shot but with them just winning the tag titles I don’t think they’ll go in that direction. I guess Hiromu is always an option. But with Naito and Bushi leaving I have questions about where they go with Hiromu or even how long he may be staying with the company.

  13. Wato wins and beats Despy at Dominion. He can defend against Yoh first.

Dia might be legit injured (elbow) after yesterday’s big Dragon Gate show — I really hope he isn’t, or that it’s at least not serious enough to keep him out of competition, because I was really hoping this year would be a good chance for him to show his stuff (i.e. getting his own spot instead of just filling in for Taguchi).

  15. Probably not gonna happen but I’d love for mao to win but my realistic pick is akira or yoh

  16. My ideal final four would be Akira, Fujita, Robbie, and El Desperado, with whoever beats Despe (either in the semifinal or the final) winning the whole thing. (As much as I adore MAO, as a DDT guy there’s no way he’s even getting a sniff at the finals 😞)

    After that, I have no bloody idea who wins. I kind of like the idea of Robbie Eagles *finally* getting up (7th time’s a charm…?), only to be murked by El Desperado.

    But honestly – I’d be happy with any of them. Each of them has an interesting story that can be told.
