I've been working at a place for a year now. I didn't think I'd ever get benefits, but I finally asked and they said I was supposed to get my 10 days paid time off starting in July and they forgot to tell me. (It's a small private school.) I also asked about insurance and pension payments and my boss whips out a chart and says based on what I make (about 275000 a month) that my half of the payment would be about 36000 a month! This sounds ridiculous to me. He said it's because it includes nursing care and some other benefit I'll never use, and I'm better off just paying the national ins and pension myself. Of course he refused to pay half of that even tho according to him, he'd also be saving a lot of money. 😂
This guy was also trying to tell me that paid time off is only paid at 60% of my pay. I think I have set him straight on that, he refuses to confirm it so I'm not sure. He tried to convince me he was right by sending me a copy of the labor standards act, where it clearly states I get paid my usual wage. There's nothing in the contract either that states 60%, the contract states I'm paid according to the labor standards act. I asked him to show me where it says I get 60% and no response.
Anyway, that's why I thought this ins thing might be off too, but I'm having harder time figuring this out. I'm in Chiba.
Thank you
