Looks like egg, but could it be fried tofu skin (aburaage) since it’s vegetarian?

Not egg. I think it’s some kind of namafu, like a fish cake but made of wheat gluten. It comes in sheets, tubes, and other shapes.

Which restaurant? If it’s 100% vegetarian / vegan, you don’t have to worry. It could be mushroom or tofu skin
