Lifetime ban please.
I suppose that’s one intended purpose (& major benefit) of the 2028 JESTA introduction. Punks like that will be able to leave the country, but they won’t be coming back in for quite a while after.
> A drone was seen dangerously diving and spinning close to the 634-meter-tall Tokyo Skytree.
>
> The footage, taken by a drone flying perilously near the tower, was posted online by a U.S.-based filmmaker. Since the video was uploaded to social media last week, the comments section has erupted with criticism:
> “This is disrespectful.” “Such a nuisance!” “I’m sick of people who don’t follow the rules.”
>
> In Japan, flying drones over densely populated areas or at altitudes above 150 meters is generally prohibited. Such flights require government approval.
>
> When FNN contacted the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), the ministry confirmed that no application for drone flight had been received for this case.
>
> Did the man not know about Japan’s drone regulations?
>
> The program contacted him directly via email, asking whether he had obtained the necessary permissions for the drone shoot. His response was as follows:
>
> Email from the man:
> “I explored the architectural beauty of Tokyo using the unique perspective of a drone. Skytree is a powerful symbol of Tokyo’s skyline and spirit.”
>
> He gave no answer regarding whether permission had been obtained, only offering a description of the footage itself.
>
> The MLIT stated that this could potentially constitute a violation of the Civil Aeronautics Act and that they are consulting with the police.

FYI:
– Although not mentioned in mainstream reports, this influencer is also the same individual who previously filmed Tokyo Tower without authorization:

– This account also photographed the January 2025 Southern California wildfires with a drone and posted it on Instagram Story:

I properly register my drone and abide by the rules and then we have this individual doing whatever he wants and the government does nothing. Makes you wonder what the point is to abiding by the rules.

Just as I thought, I hate this guy.
I stand by my solution to the plague of social media dickheads being the following:
1) amend the crimes act (or equivalent) to make causing public disturbance for profit a criminal act
2) the penalty is 1000円 per sub or 100円/view (whichever is greater) at time of sentencing
Once an example is made of one, i guarantee they all stop.
Unpopular opinion?
That looked amazing. Happy this guy at least made it artistically interesting. He’ll probably just take a ban and keep making sick videos around the world.
