Softbank WiFi Question

So, I've been doing long-term pocket wifi through Global Mobile (I need it for work). They use SoftBank and Ive been using the 601-HW device, which has worked adequately for my needs. The issue now is that I've moved to a new place down an alley with much weaker signal. My contract is up for renewal and they offer a slightly newer (and more expensive) unit called the 801-ZT. What are the chances that might have a stronger antenna and pull a better signal? They won't let me try it out – it's a new contract or nothing. Anyone have experience with those models?
