COE application for Spouse (myself) of Japanese National was submitted 6 weeks ago. I am still in the US (Chicago area), but my apartment lease is ending on 7/31. In the event that I need to stay temporarily with family on the East Coast while waiting for the approved COE application, does anyone know if it is okay to apply for the visa at a different consulate than the one we listed in the COE application (Chicago in the application since that is where I currently live and plan to apply if I receive the COE before my current apartment lease ends vs. Boston since it would be closer to my family members' house where I would stay while waiting)? I am wondering if it would be an issue since my driver's license will likely still be Illinois, and I believe they ask for that to confirm you are applying at the correct Japanese consulate for your region?
