Does this seem like a fair price for plumbing work in Osaka?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been having issues with a clogged drain in my apartment in Osaka for about a week. I tried using a pipe cleaning liquid, but it didn’t help, so I called a plumber.

When the plumber first came to check, he said it was probably due to hardened oil/grease and estimated the repair would cost around ¥150,000. After working on it for two hours, he said it looked like the drain was blocked by some unknown object. In the end, I was charged ¥220,000, with a “discount” because it was considered a severe case.

Does this sound like a normal price for this kind of repair in Japan?
Any advice or similar experiences would be really helpful.

Thanks in advance!
