Hello all. I’m 25F in school currently to be a UX designer and I eventually plan to move to Japan after gaining experience here in the states. I’m aware of the drastic pay cut and I’m also aware of the possible issues with work culture, language barrier (although I have N2 I’m really putting in work to properly speak like I want to), etc. But, as far as money goes, in the next 4-5 years I’d like to have at least $100k saved. God willing I get a job to actually support a hefty savings like that lol.
I’ve seen many people say they’ve been okay with $20-$30k. Is there anyone who is single with no kids that saved more? I do plan to go to vocational school and not have to work so I can relax and travel a bit and also make some long term investments such as a house although that’s just talk for now.
I have lived in Japan before so I’m not going in completely blind but with prices rising I’m not sure about the economy in Japan as of now and how that will positively or negatively affect the circumstances I want to move to Japan on.
Thanks for reading yall 👌🏾
TLDR: can I realistically be a jobless bum going to and paying for vocational school in Japan with $100k for a few years?
