U.S. trips to Japan surpass Paris for hot summer vacation destinations

More than 1.5 million seats have been booked on flights from the U.S. to Japan over the summer: "Everybody is trying to take the family to Japan. I’m not sure we’ll have enough seats, to be frank."

  1. Paris has been ruined by overtourism completely. Locals over there hate tourism and their contempt isn’t completely unreasonable. Japan might want to avoid those problems and learn from paris

  2. Great…. Just what we need in the hot summer… more loud Americans. Scalpers incoming as well. Awesome. 😎

  3. After going this last July/August I will never go back to Japan in the summer lmao. Hard pass

  4. It says numbers are yet to hit prepandemic levels?? That cant be true

  5. I find it ironic that how Japanese people fantasize Paris, that most people not from Japan are opting to go there instead of Paris this time around.

  6. They will be so filled with regret as they hurry from one air-conditioned space to the next… it’s still June and I’m sheltering in place under the AC until the sun goes down.
