Good for New Japan. Depending on how he takes the approach of NJPW he could be a top guy before 2028.
Was this the big press conference that was announced
Was wondering where I heard the name before so I looked it up and, yeah, Olympic Gold medalist in judo. The Olympics are practically the sole sporting event I pay attention to that doesn’t involve Cars Going Vroom. Definitely a good find. And let’s face it, it’s hard to have a better real name for a pro wrestler than “wolf”.
praying that he catches on fast, it would be wonderful
does anyone know how long he’s been in the dojo for, or has he just joined.
Alright we’re all thinking it…How long till he’s in House Of Torture?
Don’t really know how popular Judo is in Japan, but since he’s a gold medalist I’m assuming he’s probably more famous than most of the NJ roster already. Could he be the huge draw that New Japan desperately needs?
Aaron Wolf is no ordinary judoka, he’s one of the most decorated Gold Medalists of all time. This is an absolutely massive pickup for NJPW as he’s already a celebrity in Japan.
My out of left field prediction for the future: He is going to get Narita back to a face somehow and they’ll be doing tag leagues as a crazy shoot/strong style unit
Is NJPW going back to singing more shootlike workers like Boltin and Wolf?
The new Kurt
Huge signing for NJPW. Wolf is already a celebrity in Japan. He’s been on multiple prime time shows on TBS, including their recent New Year’s Special. There will be a lot of mainstream eyes keeping up with him in New Japan.
I’m very surprised he chose wrestling immediately after his judo retirement. I think it can’t be about money, because becoming a judo coach + a regular prime time tv personality would likely pay a lot more and be a lot safer and less hard working.
Man I feel like if he’s at least decent you gotta give him the “big deal very quickly” push
