I have always wanted to go to Japan to study their techniques on haircoloring and cutting firsthand, and assumed it would be a simple "get a working holiday visa, get a quick certificate, start work and learn on the job" like most countries. but after some research, it seems like the only way to work in japan as a foreign beautician is if you finish 2 years of schooling, get a certificate and then you can work only in Tokyo.
Does anyone have experience working/studying in Japan as a hairdresser?
I would be okey with going for school instead of work, but id rather not have to sit through multiple years of just the basics again that are more than likely similar ( peroxide is still peroxide no matter the country)
What would be my best option here? Especially as I was only planning on a year or so, not a multi year plan, in which case I want it to be worthwhile
