What do I do with a butsudan in the U.S.?

I don't know if this is the right subreddit for this question but my father in Los Angeles died last year and the only thing left in his house for me to find a home for is our family butsudan from Japan. I don't have room for it in my apartment. It is around 5.5 feet tall and 2-3 feet in width and depth. Do you know if there is a religious ritual I need to have done to it regarding my ancestors' spirits? Do you know who might possibly want one? Thank you!
