This is just a little question, but if I study Japanese for a year, would I be able to carry out small conversations in school as an exchange student in Japan? There are some programs that only require you to know english to study there, but I wanna learn about the language for at least a year before i go there so I can talk to others. I will keep learn Japanese while in Japan if I go there, ofc. I know I won't be able to speak a lot but I'd like to ask what you guys think I'd be able to do if I studied for a year.
What I'm looking forward to is to at least talk in small conversations and make friends in school.
Also, I'm gonna get a tutor soon to teach me too. I plan on averagely studying 1-2 hours a day(1 hour of being taught and 1 hour of self-study) if that helps give an opinion!
