I’m staying in Tokyo and have a rental car reserved for Okinawa tomorrow.
I went to Lake Biwa for some Bass fishing and came back to find my international drivers permit missing from my room. (It was on my bed)
How screwed am I?
Follow up question I will probably get the answer to before I get a reply here: What’s the rule on scooters? We are traveling light.
Edit- lodging host kindly offered to take us anywhere Saturday! Sunday we will probably just enjoy Nago or go deep sea fishing. GT are biting! According to my bass fishing guide at Biwa today!

Unless you’re able to get an international drivers license by tomorrow, you’re not going to be able to rent your car in Okinawa.
Unfortunately the same for scooters. You won’t be able to drive one without a license.
Are you sure the hotel staff didn’t just move it off the bed?
I have let them rent 50 cc scooters to me with just my American license in the Keramas but they didn’t seem happy with it
I dont think you can get an international license in a country your currently in.
Search the room thoroughly and ask at the front desk, but if you can’t find it you’re screwed. The best you can do without it is an electric scooter, like the one that goes at the pace of a person jogging.
Oof bad timing. And if you have a partner I can hear the “I told you not to…”
If you had taken pictures of the license you can try to contact the car rental company and say all you have are pictures. Because that’s all they need anyway on their end. But this is definitely not legal and FAFO route
