Hi, I am a Vietnamese citizen currently residing in the United States under an F-1 visa. My fiancé is a Taiwanese citizen currently residing in the United States under a J-1 visa. He will soon relocate to Japan for a postdoctoral position.
We are planning to get married in the United States and obtain a US marriage certificate. I would like to ask whether our US-issued marriage certificate would be accepted by Japanese immigration authorities for the purpose of applying for a dependent visa, even though neither of us is a US citizen and our home countries are Vietnam and Taiwan, respectively.
Can anyone suggest a reliable lawyer?
