President Trump: “Signed letter on tariffs to 12 countries. They will be sent on the 7th”

On July 4, President Donald Trump revealed that he had signed a letter regarding tariffs and related negotiations with 12 countries. The letter is set to be sent on July 7. When asked about the contents, Trump confirmed that the letter would include details about tariff rates, with adjustments ranging between 10% to 70%.

Trump did not specify which countries he will send the letters, so it remains unclear whether Japan is among them. The Trump administration is aiming to send all the letters by July 9, and tariffs are expected to begin being enforced starting August 1.

The Trump administration is working under a deadline, as the temporary suspension of mutual tariffs will expire on July 9. Intense negotiations with various countries are expected in the coming days.
