we're leaving Japan in September and want to rent a car for a month for some last minute travel, moving stuff etc, and we reckon that converting a drivers license (we have been here for less than a year and have used a simple translation in the past months) will make it a lot easier with the rentaka-companies procedures, so I just looked up how to change our drivers license, and apparently one has to wait for like 2 months for an appointment, is that true? We're from Germany, from what I've read we don't need any exams or tests, so it should be a formality, shouldn't it?
