Hi all, as the title says I'm an experienced professional with a lot of experience that would be interested in moving to Japan. I have done my research online but I find that the majority of questions, answers and just general information concerns either unskilled workers or graduates. Which is fair enough as the younger demographic tends to be more mobile. I have checked the point calculator for residency (for fun) and i have 140 points, which seems more than enough if that's what i ever wanted. In the short term, I'd like to just get a job and maybe do a 12-24 month contract. For reference my background is in electrical engineering and I'm qualified up to phd level. I also have various research papers, awards, things like that. I don't speak Japanese yet but I've started that journey. So with all of that out of the way, how do i actually get a job? GaijinPot seems to be 90% IT jobs. I work for a global company but they're not Japan-based. What other avenues could i pursue that would be more suitable to my demographic? Thanks in advance!
