Moving to Tokyo with a 1 year old and staying in a short term rental for the first 3 months in Mitaka. City hall told me they won't issue a juminhyo for leases less than 1 year, and the hoikuens all require a juminhyo in the same city. We will be apartment hunting, but want to take our time before committing to a two year lease. Anyone have a recommendation on short term private daycare in this transition period (20 hours a week or so)? I looked at SmartSitter but it's too expensive. Thank you very much!
