My Last Minute G1 Predictions
Going through the block stage this year I realise just how wide open it is, and how unpredictable this one is going to be. I love it.
The way it plays out here is going into the last night of Block A, David Finlay has already won the block and the bye. The contenders for the play-in places are Uemura, Tsuji and EVIL. The defining match (and thus main event of the night) is EVIL vs Tanahashi. EVIL wins and he is in, Tanahashi wins and Uemura and Tsuji go through. Tanahashi wins for the good of the company and ends his final G1 on 10 points.
Over in Block B both Kidd and Takeshita have sealed their place in the tournament stage but are competing for the bye on the final night. The battle for the final spot is between Umino, ZSJ and O'Khan. ZSJ loses in a shock to YOSHI-HASHI, meaning in the main event Umino and O'Khan are competing for the final spot. (I wanted Ren to finish on 10 points but felt like both Takeshita and Kidd losing when fighting for the block win would be lame).
