TL;DR Tokyo police revealed tiny earphones and an audio relay device used in organized cheating on a TOEIC exam. The devices, provided by a Chinese company, were used by a Chinese test taker who allegedly attempted to receive answers remotely. The MPD also arrested a Chinese graduate student suspected of providing answers to cheaters.

何だって?
Oh what a surprise, so strange that my Chinese acquaintance has a 900 score but can’t even have a daily conversation
“The earphone is a 3-millimeter metal sphere that fits inside the ear”
wow !
That’s some pretty high level spy gear there.
Does anyone know how the tiny 3mm metal ball in the ear works?
I assume it uses near‑field magnetic induction that requires an induction loop around your neck or something.
Cheating is a real industry in China and has been for years

Chinese people have been cheating on tests for literally a thousand+ years. I remember when I was getting my minor in Asian history, my textbook had a picture of a robe someone had secretly worn while taking the government administration entry exam. Every square inch had answers and facts written on it. Some shit is just engrained in one’s culture.
What’s interesting to me is why is the police involved in investigating cheaters on a test run by a private company?
I think they also used Google glasses?
its old school
