Just saw on Cagematch that Kenny Omega vs Tetsuya Naito from 2018's G1 is this date's highest-rated match, but I couldn't even remember it.
By contrast, their 2016 G1 bout is the match that got me into New Japan, and people loved their 2017 G1 final. It got me thinking, what an insane trilogy of matches just to take place in the G1 tournament.
What other pairings have a great list of G1 matches?
EDIT: Some others I've thought of – ZSJ was KENTA's best New Japan opponent, and they had like four or five G1 matches.
Also, I'm hyped for another Takeshita vs ELP.
