“bicycle doesn’t got that fast…” Is it a moped? Overtaking cars, zigzag driving and ignoring traffic lights

In Tokyo’s Meguro Ward, a shocking and reckless rider was caught on camera.

The rider was seen speeding down the road on what looked like a pedal-equipped electric bike called a moped, going as fast as nearby cars—around 50 km/h (about 31 mph).

The person filming said the moped suddenly sped past them and described it as dangerous and outrageous behavior.

The rider showed no concern for traffic, boldly driving down the center of the road as if they owned it. The bike had no license plate and the rider wore no helmet—both are clear violations if it was a moped.

To make things worse, the rider swerved side to side as if taunting others, then ran a red light and sped off.

The entire incident showed multiple traffic violations and a total disregard for safety.
