I'm a software engineer who's been living in Japan for almost 10 years. My biggest ongoing challenge? Work meetings. Whether it's catching subtle nuances in Japanese, the constant mental gymnastics of switching between my mother language and Japanese, or trying to remember everything that was discussed afterward. Sometimes I leave meetings feeling like I only understood 70% of what happened.
