I am an experienced rider from Europe that came to Japan for work last month. 🙂
I have heard a lot of bad things about horse riding here – that the horses are not turned out, the "trainers" need training themselves etc… But I love horse riding way too much to ever quit it. I have ridden horses since 9 yrs old. I also leased a few horses and I am used to ride at least 2 times a week. I do not want to change it.
So… I wanted to ask you whether you know about any riding club around Tokyo (where I stay), which is worth considering? I went through many websites and even when I found some stables with meadows, than I saw that they publish films of their trainers… Films for which in Europe they would be banned. Like constantly kicking the horse with spurs or destroying horse's mouth by jumping obstacles with no balance. Moreover, most of the stables seem to offer riding mainly for beginners. I spent hundreds of hours galloping through forests alone, so I can not imagine myself being lead on a rope right now…
But still there must be some places in which the riding is taught at least properly… Hence if anybody can recommend any stable, I would be grateful.
And I am sorry if this post sounded impolite or arrogant. I really do care about horses and I want to constantly improve my riding skills. So it is important to me to find people with the same goals. And I believe that such people are in every country. 🙂
