Tsunami warning just got upgraded, now 3 meter tsunami. NHK TV is broadcasting tsunami warning in 11 different languages. Also, video of cars driving away from sea coast and closure of sea walls in Nemuro, Hokkaido.
3m tsunami incoming… stay safe guys
Approximately what time will it hit us?
Was driving when the Navi turned my music off and started broadcasting warnings. The lady giving the announcement was bricking herself and making mistakes. Scary stuff.
We have plans to go to Naoshima this afternoon, which is not currently under advisory. Is there anything we should be cautious or mindful of despite this? Visiting as a tourist in case that wasn’t clear. Stay safe all.
Japanese officials are estimating waves of 3 meters (9′) to strike imminently. NHK is (translated live in English) telling people to evacuate immediately.
I’m in tokyo, koto-ku near a spot where 1m waves are said to hit at around 3pm.
Seeing alot of conflicting info on wether or not i should evacuate (keep in mind im in a pretty tall building).
If i should, then where to?
I know it’s hard to estimate, but how long time could it take for a tsunami to hit Hokkaido? Is it minutes, hours?
According to NHK, coastal areas in Russia have been flooded and buildings swept away by the tsunami. In Hokkaido, however, even an hour after the predicted arrival time, only a 30 cm tsunami was recorded instead of the expected 3 meters. Most of the time, tsunami warnings and advisories turn out to be like this and aren’t a big deal. But if you think of it as being right one out of ten times, it’s better to evacuate every time just to be safe.
Hello, I am suppose head to Toyama in a few hours. I have been looking at this map and it is the blue area. What does the blue mean? Unaffected ? Or lower surge? Should I not got to Toyama? Any info would be appreciated thanks! https://www.jma.go.jp/bosai/map.html#4/41.739/137.725/&elem=warn&contents=tsunami
Wtf did I wake up to.
Take care everyone
Waking up to this in Okinawa 😅😅😅
Is osaka safe?
As of now the waves were higher yesterday than whats on the live cam in Kamakura. If you want actual live wave reports, I’d check out surfline. As of now, most are flat/1m high. I’d not go to the beach today out of an abundance of caution but it’s not really much of an issue at the moment.
Omg no…I just left Japan hours ago🥲
Hope everyone stays safe and be careful! Wish you all the best 🙏🏻
JR East trains are experiencing significant delays.
Please stay safe everyone ❤️. I have a friend who’s vacationing in Southern Japan with her family; they are in the Ishikawa Prefecture.
Please all take care of each other. Praying for you all 🙏
Praying for our brothers & sisters in Japan. Please pray for us in Hawai’i as well. We have many idiots who are continuing to swim at Ala Moana Beach and Waikiki Beach.

Currebtly in Toyako, supposed to be driving to hakodate today. think its unlikely ill make it?
According to the latest report from NHK, the highest tsunami observed in Japan so far was 50 cm at Ishinomaki Port in Miyagi Prefecture. This was 1.5 hours later and 2.5 meters lower than the originally forecasted arrival time and wave height.
In Tateyama, Chiba Prefecture, a large whale was found washed up on the shore. It’s unclear whether the earthquake and tsunami disrupted the whale’s internal navigation system, but it’s an interesting phenomenon.
Dead whales on shore being shown on NHK… would that have any correlation ?
So that Chinese prediction that a big earthquake was going to happen at the end of June was true? Lmao
NHK playing footage of a group of beached whales. Does this normally happen during tsunami?

How does a 1 or 3m tsunami compare to 2011?
Same here in Hawaii
Please stay safe everyone.
Is narita airport under the red warning area?
