Experience as Haken at Woven by Toyota?

Hey guys, so first time working as a Haken, I got offered a position today with a 3 months rolling contract and I've been job hunting for 6 months now with no luck, I am Seishain at my current company but it's hell here and the company is going broke they layed off like 80% of the workers.. I am desperately looking for a new job, I keep seeing a lot of bad reviews about Woven in general but what do you guys think? Is there anyone here who worked/is working as a Haken at Woven?

I would love to hear your opinions it would help me greatly!

  1. Just take the offer and try to find a more stable job at the same time. Woven’s becoming a poor man’s Rakuten.

  2. If you’re dead set on quitting you might want to ask for a few months of salary to resign first, but I’ve never heard anything good about woven.

  3. There’s nothing particularly bad about woven, they just mischaracterized themselves as a FAANG type company so a lot of people felt misled after joining. They are very much a Japanese style company, even more so now.

That said it’s not like you’re going to be a woven employee. Haken means you will be in the bottom tier of staff, lower than part time and contract workers, and a little above the cleaning staff.

  4. Based on the context of your post, it doesn’t really matter what the experience at Woven is like. Your current job is hell and u are at risk of layoff. so can Woven be worse than this? I doubt it. From one hell to another is still good if u can squeeze more money out of it

  5. Currently Haken at Woven. Its….fine. Id say depends on the team and role. The org Im in has indecisive leadership and has gone through changes so its been a challenge. As mentioned your a contractor so have to sit on a separate floor, dont have all the benefits of FTEs and from my talks with people they are fine to use contractors long term so wouldnt bet on conversion to FTE>
