Japanese Beauty Standards

This got deleted on r/japanlife, so I'll be posting here.

I'll be residing in Japan on a student visa from September to February.

I'm from Southeast Asia, but people often tell me I look East Asian. I don’t think I’m ugly, but I’m not as good at doing makeup as some of the girls I see. Most Japanese girls I’ve seen (in real life and social media) wear contact lenses to make their eyes look bigger. Even if it's not colored, I guess those black lens that enlarge the pupils are also popular. I can’t wear contact lenses due to personal reasons.

Will I be judged for not wearing colored contact lenses or for not being good at makeup? I mean, I can always learn how to do makeup, but I have acne-prone skin and most days I just wear tone-up sunscreen to cover the redness.
