Daycare Issues

Hey all I’m kinda in a pickle and am hoping some of you have some ideas or firsthand experience.

My maternity leave is up August 26 and I’ll be going back at work at that time. I was unable to enter my (currently 11 month old) baby in daycare as there were no openings in my area. She’s on the waitlist and the City Hall referred me to a bunch of different babysitter dispatch companies to use via a subsidy.

The problem is, I’ve been rejected by a bunch of them because they don’t have enough staff to cover me for how much I need, and I’ve also been rejected for one of them because I don’t speak fluent Japanese. I speak plenty Japanese for it to be fine, but I’m picking my battles 😒

I’m really starting to worry that I’m not gonna be able to get childcare. I’m a single mom so I have to go back to work. Financially, I just can’t stay home any longer. I am incredibly stressed about this and really hoping somebody has some ideas. It’s hard, because I work full-time and my work is about an hour from my house so I need somebody who’s able to come for 11 hours a day five days a week. Which is proving to be pretty much impossible. I also honestly can’t afford to pay someone a living wage without the subsidy, which only covered approves providers.
