The Kita Nippon Shimbun Fireworks Festival, held annually on August 1st in Toyama City, Toyama Prefecture, began in 1947 as a memorial for the victims of the Toyama Air Raid and as a prayer for postwar recovery.
The event takes place along the banks of the Jinzū River, where stunning, large-scale fireworks light up the summer night sky in a breathtaking display.
