**死ぬほど暑い!**
Correction, they just experienced the coldest July of the next 100 years.
>2.89 C above normal
This is an insane figure. Third summer in a row. Nowhere is safe from the summer heat, not even Hokkaido. I suppose if you live on Mt Fuji’s 5th station, you’ll get some respite maybe..
Hottest July ever… *so far*
And some people still say there’s no climate change?
But relatively speaking, this summer feels less hot than last summer.
I was in Tokyo last week. Literally went during the hottest week in July.
And in January, I went to Chicago during the coldest week of the year at -20c. Literally experienced extreme weather on both sides this year.
The river where I live is exceptionally low. I can’t recall ever seeing it this low in 20 years.
Time to build Tokyo underground.
It’s my 3rd summer in Japan and they keep saying that we are hitting all-time record temperatures, as if summer here was bearable before I came to Japan. Same for tech jobs, everyone was hiring until I graduated then all jobs disappeared. I was born a lil too late in this world, damnit.
Yeah, no shit.
25 years here. Back in the day, I had a small circulator fan that I took from room to room and slept through the night no prob.
Living in urban Japan, I’d die from heatstroke now if I didn’t have ac. in the mountains or right up north you could probably do it. I feel so sorry for the older folk in shitty housing that can’t afford to upgrade and are basically waiting to die.
But, yeah, climate change denial generates engagement, so I guess it’s all a hoax
The humidity is way lower though, so it feels less horrible compared to the last few years. The evenings are actually really pleasant right now
Time to cut more trees, or what’s left in the street. 🌴
