Hello everybody! I have been living in Fukuoka since October 27th 2024. My girlfriend is native and we met in Canada. She had to come back and I didn't want to be apart so I came here on a working holiday visa.
I have been a chef/cook in french cuisine for around 11/12 years, I am not conversational in Japanese but have been surrounded by japanese for roughly the past three years. I work as a chef in a japanese izakaya / yakitori restaurant in Fukuoka.
My visa expires at the end of december of this year and was wondering what I could possibly do to stay longer? I really like it here. I did a bit of research and the only thing I could find was a skilled labour working visa which I believe requires N4. (Better get to studying 🥹.) I also think I would have to work in a french fine dining restaurant as that's where all my experience lies. (I dont really wanna leave my current job, everyone is so kind and I don't really care about the money.
What other options are there? Sorry if this is asked often, my research hasn't really helped me solve the puzzle in my head.
Thanks a lot in advance !!!
