Anybody else have problems with people having very limited knowledge about basic information while signing important documents overseas?
I’m currently in the process of selling my US property while living in Japan. I have no use for it and don’t want to rent it out.
And the people at the title agency and realtor, of course, understand I am overseas and that I am from the United States but that I now live in Japan. This has been communicated since the beginning.
They asked for ID so I sent them my passport. Which they then responded with, “great, thanks! So you are a United States citizen?” After I sent them my US passport.
How do these people make it through day to day life? Like, seriously.
Not to mention paperwork is hard as is getting the right stuff together. But I think people stop functioning you mention you don’t live in the US. Like all common sense goes out the window.
Anyone else have to deal with this kind of thing when communicating with businesses or organizations back home? Swear it’s like pulling teeth
