Worst thing is, they don’t even taste good compared to what we have in Europe.
gyoumu super, they have apples from new zeland at a decent price.
japanese apples: no.
Well, I don’t buy those, damn.
Go to a 八百屋 (produce store) and get them cheaper.
Depends on the store too, some are expensive.
If you browse around enough you can find slightly (and I mean very lightly) bruised or imperfect apples for ¥100-200 at a “super”. Or even less.
Better yet, hit your local 八百屋さん
I’m sticking to Android hehehe
I just eat bananas and pretend like their apples

I don’t buy fresh fruits in Japan. I go without fresh fruits for a couple of months before my regular trips to Southeast Asia or Europe. Eat them as breakfast and snacks every day there.
The price of fresh fruits in Japan and Taiwan is not acceptable as day-to-day food. Is it because it’s a small island nation?
Thats one crazy pricing. Glad that supa around me stops at around 238something.
The price is ridiculous, but this apple should be harvested last autumn. Also, Osaka is far from the major apple-producing areas.
My local Sundi has bags of apples, 6 for 350 yennies
Gyomu, Asmo, Lamu, Sandi and Super Tamade are our favorite low-cost options!
By buying other apples.
Those Apples are insanely round looking and beautiful and delicious so expensive, You can find down graded apples some cheap supermarket
discount prices is key friend, but that one there gotta be a premium, i usually gets 5 for the price of 1 of that. and i live in tokyo now, osaka has tamade, they sometimes discount fruits and try gyomu or local fruit shop.
Tamade!
They’ve been charging a small fortune for apples (and other fruits) for as long as I’ve lived in Japan. Other prices have gotten kind of shocking, but fruit? I’ve been cynical for a while now
I have a guy he sells from his truck 5 apples for 500 yen. 😏🫢
Not that expensive?
I buy apple pies and fetch them from in there
(Insert SpongeBob circle drawing gif here)
Mercari, I buy 5 or 10 kg of apples that are B grade. Taste and price is unbeatable
The best apple I ever tried, weighed about 600g, and was worth every yen. In contrast, the op apples are about 360g.
fruits are expensive in Japan but lately they are getting very expensive in Spain too and it was the only thing was still cheap… They are double or triple the prize than 2 years ago and they taste worst.
Yall too stingy
Eat Kiwi, right next to the apples 😄 contrary to popular belief in my country, they can be eaten with the skin (more vitamins, fiber).
In any case, for any person over 50, fruit are overrated, too much sugar, smoothies even worse.
