Gold license, does it require clean record for the full term of (expired+current) license validity?

Or is it just the clock of 5 years and 41 days like I'm seeing?

What I mean is

If I had my green (first) license for 2 years and 10 months before renewal, and then my blue license that's valid for three years after that, and I only received a traffic infraction notice about two months into driving on my green license, will I get a gold license (since I'll have been driving with no infractions for 5.5 years)?

I always run into sneaky stipulations and I'm trying to determine accurate insurance based on gold vs blue, thanks if anyone can explain.
