Parents of mixed babies, how do you respond to unwanted comments about their appearance by in-laws? I have a 7 month baby who is half British and half Japanese. My Japanese father-in-law keeps commenting on how non-Japanese my baby looks and even went as far as to call her ‘gaijin’. Why can’t they just say something like ‘she has lovely brown hair’ ect instead of needing to label her as foreign. I know I should just ignore these comments but don’t want them to continue when she’s old enough to understand. Happy to hear anyone with a similar experience!
