Hello, I’ve just moved into my first Japanese apartment. It’s unfurnished, in an older building, and I have 3 tatami rooms. Each tatami room has a pretty sizable closet space, but I’m not sure how to make the best use of it. Each closet is split in half by a wooden shelf. This makes it easy to store bulky items like my suitcases, vacuum cleaners etc, but I’m really not sure what the best way to go about organizing my clothes is. The way the space is divided, I could get a tension rod and hang my shirts or something, but my coats would drag against the middle shelf. Basically I know this question is vague, but are there any specific organizers I could buy for this type of space? Does anyone have suggestions for how they maximize visibility of their things? Would it be better to just get some drawers or a wardrobe? Thanks!
