On the 13th, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department announced the arrest of Daisuke Suzuki (46), an unemployed man from Nihonzutsumi 2-chome, Taito Ward , Tokyo, on suspicion of theft and trespassing, for breaking into a dog cafe and stealing a Chihuahua. He reportedly said, "I was drunk and don't remember, but I do remember taking the dog in a taxi."
According to Minamisenju Police Station, the suspects were arrested on suspicion of breaking into a shelter dog cafe in Tokyo's Arakawa Ward and stealing three Chihuahuas between the late night of July 3 and the early morning of July 4. Initially, they only stole one dog, but after the theft, they stopped by a convenience store and it escaped, so they broke in again and stole two more.
Afterwards, Suzuki visited a snack bar in Taito Ward with the Chihuahuas in his arms. After showing them to the snack bar staff, he allegedly left them outside the bar. All three Chihuahuas were rescued and safe.
