Independent Home Inspection – Overall Worth It?

I’m about 1 month away from my new home’s inspection (内覧会) and I was just thinking – even if I go through it myself I don’t have confidence that I would be able to catch anything really or know what to look for.

I searched this board for some similar posts and I can see a few people say it’s worth it (around 6-10万 depending on type of service) but I’m wondering what types of things have been caught on inspection for new homes? I also saw a post saying the owner can get offended if I brought my own independent inspector (um, who cares though? My purchase) but I guess I’m just wanting to ask people’s experiences with hiring an independent inspector (or if you didn’t and regret doing so)
