When I first came here about 9 years ago the only issue I had was that some ATMs at some stores wouldn’t accept my English card ( But then I just went to a 711 and it worked. ) and some places were cash only… a slight issue but nothing I thought was too much..
Fast forward to today

Pizza but no longer accept Apple Pay – which means I can’t use my foreign cards at all.

I can no longer top up my suica with Wise (I changed my wise to Japan too)

My bank have stopped all English support and have limited nt monthly transfers to a maximum of 200,000 per month. (This is also to Japanese accounts not sending money home

Rakuten and American Express Japan have. It’s rejected my applications with no reason even thought I’ve had a stable job and paid taxes etc on time since I arrived

My partner who is Japanese has allowed me to add their credit card to my apply pay because I couldn’t even charge my suica – but I’ve also noticed that after maybe 3-4000 a day they just decline anything after that.
