For those who moved to Japan and started a new life, how did you find the adjusting period like after arriving?
Will be on a student visa with plans to change to work visa.
I’m talking about setting up a bank account, national health insurance, social security, finding a GP, etc. Was the process too bureaucratic/difficult?

It takes a lot of time and there is indeed a lot of bureaucracy, but it’s nothing millions before you haven’t navigated so it’s possible. And everything is easier if your Japanese level is higher obviously.
Those administrative tasks are not difficult. I think that should be the least of your worries.
