I've always assumed that 救済 meant and Rescue in Japanese travel insurance policies. However, policies read like the insurance company will pay to bring a family member or friend over to bring you back on the plane if you are broken and maimed.
Does anyone have solid information on whether there is a Japanese insurance company which would cover helicopter search and rescue for, say mountain trekking or paragliding? Sompo is known to recognize paragliding isn't a "high risk" activity (as opposed to hang gliding), and will cover it while it's a gray area for other companies. But I'd like a definitive answer as to how to get coverage for helicopter search and rescue for paragliding in remote areas in India. India will not dispatch helicopters until they get paid to leave Delhi, and people have been know to "lie around" with broken backs for three days before others could get the help in that was required.
Appreciate any input or advice!
